Abstract
Abstract Open Solutions was born in 2005 by two researcher of the CNR. Now active in the Open Source field and Open Source software development, Abstract, creates web applications, professional web sites and Intranet/Extraner based on the application ZOPE and on the CMS (Content Management System) Plone. Abstract's IT team is specialized in the technical support and consulting for web environments and informational technologies.
In a world always changing like the IT one, and particularly the Web-oriented applications one, the Team growth during this year thanks to all the experiences acquired during the past projects, on the skills side and on the capabilities of offering a innovative service: we develop traditional on-site but even Remote Application Management Systems.
Abstract uses and suggest Open Source tools starting with Linux and all the GPL Applications. GNU/Linux is with us in all its ways. We use it in every field, in the office and in our free time. We choose it for it's power and reliability, and for is ability to avoid market's games. Linux is free, free for whoever wants to develop it, free for whoever wants to use it, free for the way it thinks. Our products are based OpenSource software able to run on BSD, MacOSX, Windows.

Abstract's team has a strong philosophy which focus is to strategically solving problems.
“Abstract ideas, real solutions”.
But how do we reach real solutions? The complexity of reality can be overcome only by a process of abstraction. The type of abstraction that ispires us, is not a detachment from reality, but a systematic approach necessary to create intelligent and rational solutions.
To ensure this modus-operandi is required a certain flexibility to the problems that arise. To abstract is to understand better, to see the hidden, to dominate the complexity in it: that's what we are and that's what you get. Taking into consideration the issue of the Watzlawick's 9 points:

"Draw four lines touching all nine points without lifting the pencil"
we are aware of how the mental conditioning is crucial in finding a solution; Minsky wrote: "Most people have difficulties in solving the problem of the nine points because they assume that the points form a square which limits the area of work." In fact, the solution is out of the square. So the problem is easier to solve if you do not see the points as boundaries. The solution then is:

The ability of Abstract is to leave outside the limits imposed by the square and arrive at the solution without mental conditions.
Our logo is the representation of our philosopy: the symbol that represents the solution of the famous "problem of the nine points Watzlawick".

Even more significant is to leave only the solution and not the problem, eliminating the problem itself, and show its pure structure and its applicability to an entire class of problems.
