The first one of the 5 appointments is previewed for 21 January 2010 in Bologna, during which the participants will be able to understand: like works the Open community, why it is so important to diffuse its philosophy and how much is easy and less expensive, regarding the other systems owners use, the use of the software with licence GPL (General Public Licence).
What is Open Source?
Steady, reliable and completely free, these the more precious features of the Open Source Software. Few people have comprised that “free” and “shared” means more controls and less costs and above all reliability. What that often we hear to define Open Source is the philosophy that governs the community of professionals workers of all world that every day studies, thinks, elaborates, develops and above all it shares own intuitions, knowledges, discoveries. A community that grows in a exponential way and that continuously produces more and more powerful and ad hoc perfect business solutions. What is possible this? Simple: the free software can be adapted to own requirements and it is not bound from license fees. How convincing you that the sharing of knowledge creates produced more complete and answering to the requirements of customer and not to the logical ones of market? An Open Source software, that is free released for public use under General Public Licence, is the product of the job of an entire world-wide community of developers. Many eyes that every day sound the code source of the program in order to eliminate eventual defects and to develop new functionalities. A group of volunteers who shares the passion for good products and aims to pull down the license fees sets up from other companies. A technology that is of all, and supplies useful free software, usable by anyone in the world, without ties.
