Why Abstract
Plone is an open source CMS powerful, versatile and capable of ensuring high safety standards. It has been choose from international organizations, governments, big corporations; including, among others, CIA, NASA, Brazilian government, Columbia University, Novell. One of its strengths is undoubtedly the large community behind it, and very active: hundreds of people in the world discuss daily how to improve Plone, compiling new codes, developing applications, sharing results.
Abstract’s team has always been an important part of the Plone community and, in recent years, our involvement has been even bigger: we joined the network Zea Partners, organized two sprints (Sorrento Sprint) and in the October 2007 we even brought the Plone conferenze in Italy. Being part of this active community means to have very qualified consultants, constantly updated about technical and product's standards and always aware of problems and news.

In past years we have offered Plone consulting about a great amount of needs.
We have developed, for example, a new generation web site CercAziende.it: it's designed according to the B2B standards, the web page is able to manage more than 90,000 enterprises and 4500 visitors every day, enabling the creation of a personal page with multimedia contents for each customer.
Honda Italy and Basell Poliolefine Italy have chosen us as their technological partners in the design of their corporate intranet.
Maire Tecnimont, Paradise SPA and Farmagourmet have requested our consultancy to create their istitutional web site.
MAD, a company that deals with management of special waste, asked us a very innovative management system; it can interface with every CATERPILLAR and provides standard documents, complying with environmental laws. This information, that are managed through the intranet and GIS systems are open via extranet for organizzation responsible of monitoring.
On demand of Public Administration, we even developed a system that handles documents for the local police of Caivano; a system that share and manage the scientific publication for the University of Sannio, and for Città della Scienza of Naples we created the corporate intranet.
Abstract for Plone
We believe a lot in Plone. We believe so much that we feel the need to explore every possible application, new roads to travel. That is why we decided to invest in research, we want to offer our customers innovative methods and tools. This is the spirit that animates our work, the same that led us to devise a system for the management of signs and a system for document management of road maintenance equipment (both based on geolocating by GPS coordinates and interface with Google Maps ), the same that we drove to participate in the implementation of the platform RE.MU.NA. (Network of Neapolitans Museums), a project funded by the Miur and developed by the CNR in a Zope/Plone.
